New You Magazine Spring/Summer '11

One of my favorite stylists recently styled shoots for the Spring/Summer issue of New You Magazine,"the first national magazine devoted to exploring aesthetic and anti-aging medicine". You can bet I'll be reading the issue from front to back and taking notes. Check out my favorite photos from this issue below and be sure to pick it up at a bookstore near you.

Le Magnifique Street Chic

Lately I've been observing Dani Stahl, Nylon Mag's Style Director, and her carefree 'fashion should be fun' attitude inspired this look. I love the JOIE sequined silk pants because they can brighten up even the moodiest of Mondays. Theory's washed-leather jacket in nude-blush adds cool, yet, unexpected femininity. I choose the charcoal Helmut Lang tank, Donna Karan lace-up suede wedges, and quilted shoulder bag by ASOS for a little extra character. I know the 'on trend' bag is the envelope clutch, but if you want to be slightly outside of the box go for the shoulder bag. You can work this look using minimal accessories or go with pearl studs and a cuff.

Balmain Fall 2011 Collection: Paris Fashion Week

What I loved most about Balmain's fall collection were the fully embellished micro-mini dresses, jackets, and low-rise pants. The rows of fringe, beading, and tiny silver mosaic mirror tiles perfectly pieced together made for spectacular detailing. There were also white and pastel blue cuffed capri pants, which can be eye catching in winter, and of course the signature metallic low-rise pants, which I love because they exude undeniable coolness.
